Description:
Your excursion begins with a pickup from Bali or Banyuwangi.
If you’re departing from Bali, the adventure begins in the evening with a trip to Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi.
You can unwind in the lounge while you wait for your adventure crew. Once you’ve come together, you’ll travel to the base of Ijen Volcano.
For those starting in Banyuwangi, expect a midnight hotel pickup that will take you directly to the trailhead of Ijen Volcano.
Allow yourself to be captivated by the calm surroundings as you hike the 1.5-2 hour walk to Ijen Crater’s viewpoint.
Those who are fortunate may encounter a unique phenomenon: the volcano’s ethereal blue flames, however their occurrence is not assured.
Witness the sunrise over Java’s largest acidic lake and be impressed by the fortitude of local miners, whose difficult chore of carting sulfur feeds their families.
After exploring, return to the base. If you’re going to Banyuwangi, plan on arriving at your hotel around 9:00 a.m. However, if Bali calls, anticipate an afternoon return.
